mooji sahaja expressacid grace 02-01-2016 [mooji] we need this fire. i was saying to bindu that sometimes the grace, this acid grace, it comes in such a way that it causes the whole world to leave you, everybody must abandon you so that you find him who cannot separate from you. sometimes you have to feel that painlike everything has left you. everything. there's nothing to hold on to.
so that you have to go back to the placewhere you are inseparable. this is grace, it burns you out. it burn you outside, burn you inside. nowhere to escape. sometimes you have to ... to become a disciple of the truth in the life is the greatest auspiciousness, but you have to go beyond the disciple. you have to merge. because the disciple still needs two. so you have to burn up,even the disciple has to burn up,
it has to combust into nothingnessand you cannot separate. isn't it? yes. bitter-sweet. i'm sure that was the inspirationfor the chinese to make sweet and sour. [laughter] one of their most popular dishes, sweet and sour. bitter and sweet. go beyond life and death. she wrote this letter. i didn't finish reading the letterbecause i said to her, i have to read this letter in front of everybody
because this is a letter for everybody, but not everybody yet! this letter is from her because it is her's now, but maybe become everybody else's later. she writes, 'beloved master, i have no time. tonight this prayer is burning inside my heart. 'please beloved, let only you remain inside my heart. let my heart dissolve completely in you.' i want to die before i die. i see that i spent lifetimes running away from you,
but now good fortune brought me at your feet. i didn't do anything to have this privilege, it is a gift and i don't want to miss my chance. if only one of us has to wake up to the truth, i must be that one. i don't want to survive. i don't want to, 'save all my loving for someone who is loving me'. this illusion, this attachment must die completelyinside this being. i know it has done its work, but now it's not time any more.
i am not saying i will not love anyone any more. i don't know what can happen in the future. from today, in fact, i don't have any future. i am thankful this situation brought up this strong attachment and identity for its last dance in that way. you often say, 'you cannot make it by determination' and it is burning inside my being, i don't want to fall asleep any more. i cannot forget you again, this laziness must disappear.
this arrogance must be exposed. i love you endlessly. bindu.' when i hear someone who say, 'from today in fact, i don't have any future.' have you ever met anybody who feels like that, 'from today i don't have any future'? when you don't have any future, everything must come true now. 'i don't have any future.' future is an excuse for being lazy today. future is, 'i have time to do that. i'm getting there.'
and so we are sleeping. but when i told you, i am happy because i don't have a future. meaning that, i don't give my mind this type of playground to think about future,'i want to do these things,' because i've seen it is a hoax. and you say, 'no. i don't have a future and also past. i don't have time for that. and whatever is happening out there that my mind tells me is the present, also i don't want this.'
there's something much more exquisite than what time can give you. it is there before time. and she is saying, 'yes. this is all i have time for. i have no time for the world.i only have time for truth now. i am only here for truth.'so, that is something for me. this is my language. i know this language. when i say, i know it, i mean that when i hear it, my heart cannot not respond to that. this is how the truth is. when you speak from the truth, god is compelled to hear you.
the god inside everyone. the truth. but if you hide your god, then you sleep. but when someone speaks from the heart, they are on fire! when someone is on fire they are burning up. they're not going to havea stupid conversation with you. they don't want to talk aboutthe next dress they want to wear. if you're on fire you're not interested in fashion! you're not interested in all these other things because your being is too much on fire.
you don't want to have anything, not even any residue you want left over. so you're saying, 'don't throw water on me. let me burn up completely.' when someone speaks from their being then you're in the presence of god. the human being is different.the human being needs time to develop and to be rubbed down and massaged and told lots of nice things and encouraged.
the heart, it's not that it has to be on fire, it's not the heart is on fire. what is on fire is what is not an offer up to life. what is not true that will be on fire. when that burns, aah! that peace that remains. that joy that remains, that love that remains, that completeness that remains. are we all going to walk to 'little jamaica' to get to kabir? ta-tum-ta-tum-ta-tum! [laughter]
[whistling] kabir! ta-tum-ta-tum-ta-tum! [questioner] ok. ok. you can drop it. [laughter] [friend] he is reading 'tin tin' to the boys. [q.] we can drop it. it's fine. [m.] yes, he is reading 'tin tin'and here we are voom-voom! we are 'voom-voom' here. he is reading tin-tin.it is good. [friend] i'm going to holland tomorrow. [m.] we were just talking just now.
he say, 'you know that brahmi is going?' ok. yes. and i remember vaguely, you told me something. [questioner 2] i came in satsang and i wanted to be herefor new year's and then the next day. [q.2] it was very important for me to stay. i am very happy. it feels like it released something also. but now it just feels like it's timeto spend some time there. [m.] now you're going without itchy feet. [q.2] i'm not really going.it feels like that now too.
it's not a big thing at all. it's just to go there and be there and to support. [mooji] it's good. [q.2] i wanted to say goodbye and i just really wanted to see you.not just disappear. [m.] we don't like it when they runaway, to escape. we don't mind you vanish! but escape. no! vanish. 'she vanished so quickly there was no timeto say goodbye babaji.' that's ok! [q.2] i'm not runningand it feels very good just to walk.
[mooji] very good.[q.2] thank you so much. and vanishing is happening. [mooji] vanishing we know. no? vanishing is happening. [q.2] there's no other way. [m.] most fires they start on the ground floor and they go right up to the roof and burn, but this fire starts in the roofand burns all the way down. [laughter] [questioner 3] guruji. may i come?[mooji] yeah.
[q.3] yesterday the satsang was very strong for me because i felt that there is still this so-called 'freedom' of individuality within me and i would like to put this at your feet and burn it completely because it's nonsense. i can see it. and that's why i live outsideand have my cottage rented. [m.] yes. the sense of individualitywill always have to remain to some extent. individuality is a beautiful thing. what is different is any pride in itor any attachment to egoic autonomy,
'i need to have my space' or 'i need this,' and that has a smell with it that's not good. [q.3] this is what i feel within me. [m.] so, being protective of thatmeans you limit yourself because sometimes life wants to put you in a shape even for a few seconds, it puts you there and 'ughh!' you're uncomfortable because you're not in 'your' bed. you're in another bed, 'i want to be in my bed, i can't sleep. i want to be in my bed,'
and we can develop these type of things and it seems very comfortable, but it's such a limitation. just be open. it's not that life wants to put you in all these... maybe being very open you stayin the same place, it doesn't matter. i hear what you're saying. [q.3] but before it comes from my family background. we were raised to be free and independent and not be dependent on anyone
and this freedom brought me onto the search because i wanted to be free, but it was a kind of misunderstanding. it was coming from the person and now i see, i still have this tiny little corner inside me. [m.] this is good thingbecause it's not you want freedom but you want it on your own terms. not that. something has to be given up,this insistence on the 'me-ness', because otherwise you keep the 'me', which is a thing.
ultimately you have to drop it,it has to go beyond the little 'me'. become the full 'i', but not the 'me'. the 'me' is mean and you start to disagree. this is a very good thing to recognize, the attachment to that. it's very good. look at that. [m.] and these are not new year's resolutionsare they? these are not new year's resolutions. this is the heart seeing things and feeling, 'enough of that.'
not a new year's resolution. a new year's resolutions is for a worldly mind. and usually we can't keep up what we resolve to do. 'yes. i'm not going to smoke as from today.'yeah, ok, that sort of stuff... the intention is fine.but here it's coming from a deeper place, a seeing, an in-seeing, what you may call insight. [q.3] it's preventing to open the door completely. [m.] very good. watch how your life is going to be so much more broader now and so beautiful
and you'll see you have lost nothing! you've lost nothing.in fact, you gain so much more. you've lost nothingbecause this little protectiveness that you feel you're protecting something, but when you lose ityou've lost nothing but limitation. the attitude alone has changed,so it is so beautiful. [questioner 4] guruji.[mooji] hi darling. [q.4] can i come to you?[mooji] yes. [q.4] in 2009, after nearly ten year's search,
i came to sit at your feet in london and you told me to go home. you said, 'go home and you will solve this at home'. and i went home. i have two young children and i met self through my children. i didn't have any more booksand any more teachings and i didn't even listen to you. jamie and sienna,
it was through the unconditional lovethat they showered upon me. and i met with all the parts of my mind that had not been motheredand hadn't been fathered. and i dissolved with them,i began to dissolve with them. and i'm still at home. [mooji] yes. yes. [q.4] but i'm home. and my daughter, for christmas, she drew me monte sahaja and i knew that it was time to come backand to be at your feet.
and now i don't know. [mooji] it's ok not to know. you come and you're just here and outer knowings are not important,at a certain point. outer knowings; life takes care of that. these are just the prasad of life;it's happening outside. but inwardly we don't know what is left or what further grace can manifestin things like this. just to be in that open expanse.
[q.4] and i have some mothers and children, they come and sit in the kitchen and they just come to sitand that's it really. nothing. [m.] one thing i would say to anybody, never feel that you've reached anything. just somehow those thoughtsthey will die in you by themselves, the thoughts, 'you have more to go' or 'you have less to go'. that you've reached or you've not reached.all those things perish.
just like space has no commentaryto make about life. space doesn't say,'in the sixties it was better. i was much happier in space than i am in 2015, 2016.' no. it's just there. it's always pure! it's always pure. it doesn't age,it doesn't have good days and bad days. this is something that...the mind becomes this pure. we are here. everything. one place is not better than another.
just that your heart says, 'go this place. go sit here.' you have to know the differencebetween your heart and your mind. heart doesn't speak very much. if it speaks something,it's really to itself it's talking. mind has a lot of things to say.mind says many things, 'you need to do this and that' and so on. but you just be in that silence and when you check in to find who is living here, 'anybody home inside there?'
you cannot find any evidenceof some particular entity that is there. and yet something is announcing itself, a quality of presence that is always here inside. but it is size-lessand yet it seems to fit inside this body and work with this body in it's own way,but it's size-less. and you begin to see howit is also manifesting in other forms and how it relates to apparent differences, but it is just the same one. [q.4] thank you. [mooji] i feel that something inside has been very restless.
because you've been given a lot of room to play and have not made the best of it. i know that there's something here for you. i know that there's some wayin which i'm connected with you and you're connected with me at some level, but it has to also come with some discipline. it cannot be on your terms. [questioner 5] yes. i feel you have to be to willing to walk the path.
it is really something to walkin the shoes of a disciple. disciple means to give up your own senseof what you think and to really walkbecause we don't always know what's good for us. the only thing you can say that is right is that if you feel,'i need to wake up from this egoic identity.' then this is good. but other than that, anything you decidewithin your own sense of personal autonomy is not the best thing for you.and to come into a place like this, you have to abide by the rules, because we are not rule lovers here.
when we first came to monte sahaja we didn't have any idea, no blueprint, nothing at all! it's like we landed from another planet. we had very little idea what to dowhen people came, particular people who were more disciplined, like german people, come and they say,'what is the plan for today?' i say, we don't have one.and they were completely lost. and they were saying, 'oh my god!but it cannot be. i don't know what to do.' and they learnt a lot, to loosen up,
but the other's were, 'we're doing what we feel. we can see we have to de-bramble a lot of trees.' everybody had to de-bramble treesand that's not the best work. lots of cuts and bruises, everybody coming home like from a battlefield and wearing chappals, everybody wearing sandals. so we just worked like this, but gradually it camethat some rules had to be in place because it's clear that some peoplelive in such a way that they don't show care for others
or just they only taking care of themself. so then we had to say,'listen guys it has to be different.' that's how it started, like reminders;reminders didn't work. and then reminders became rules.and then rules didn't work. and then it became law, in a way.we don't like it. 'why do we have so many things to do.'i said, because without it it's worse! and then when we are,as it's said in the scriptures also, 'the law is made for the unrighteous, not the righteous.' what is righteousness?
i was saying that, everybody has to follow these ten commandments. but something was beautiful when someone asked jesus,'what is the greatest commandment?' he said, 'to love god with all your heart and your mind and your soul and your strength and then next thing, to love your neighbour as yourself.' he said, 'in fulfilling these two you automatically fulfil all the other lawsbecause they were the highest. and both of them said, 'love.'
that you must have love for god, respect for god. the one who has that respect, that one is wise. in whatever way that god appeals to you, with form or without form, but it means the higher principle that really is holdingand manifesting the harmony of existence and any intelligent being knowsthat this world is not a chaos. there's an underlying harmony. we see chaos becausewe see when we are functioning from merely the body-mind idea,
individuality, ego, creates a lot of distortion, creates a lot of disharmony, but that's not only what is here, underneath that a great harmony supports that. it is even in that, it allows, it's so great that it allows this sense of disharmony to manifest knowing that disharmony can never overcome or go beyond the great harmony. the great harmony holds all things. the great harmony is the nature of god.
it says, love god with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. it means that you are in obedienceto that principle, you love, honour and respect that, that is intelligence. and then to love your neighbour as yourself, meaning that if you love yourselfor if you love your family, in god's eyes they are no more special than another family. a human being will love a family becauseof attachment, 'this is mine. this is me.' so, we give special love and attention to that. and then other families, you say,
'not me and not mine.' so you don't give love to that. but intelligence knowsthat all beings are lovable in the core and it's because of the un-lovewhy we are not lovable. we behave in such a rebellious way. they say, 'love your neighbour as yourself', that seems a very simplistic way of putting it, but we have moved so muchinto the field of disharmony that we cannot simply 'love your neighbour as yourself'. first you have to begin to understand yourself!
you cannot love your neighbourmore than yourself, you have to first know yourself. you cannot love your neighbour firstand love you because without knowing yourself as love then the love that comes from you will be biasedand will always be manipulative. it will always be a face just to get something that your ego wants. and that is not love. so, the one who knows themself, has found the universal self, has found god.
that love alone can love everyone. a person's love cannot love everybody, try as much as you can, and it's not bad to try, but you'll find at least one that you cannot love. your neighbour, 'oh my god. he makes me failmy bible because i can't love him. i can't love this one, i can't love that one,'because why? you look only at the actionsand cannot look beyond your action. maybe nobody's ever looked beyond their actions. some peoples actions are so terriblethat that's all you see,
you can't see them yet, wherever they are, they seem to be buried deep downinside the package of their actions. only someone who's wise enough to look beyond the surface of things knows that there's only the self. without the self you cannot be here! even as an illusion you cannot be here. the final and ultimate authorityof your existence is the self. it wishes that you are here.
the role you play, the whole world may hate it, but god has a part for you to play. and just like actors on a stage, you go on a stage you may playa good part and a bad part. sometimes a bad part in a movie, the actor gets better paid than the good part, because it's more rich, and the whole film hangs on this bad al capone, or whatever it is. he gets the best part. but at the end of this day when he goes homehe's not al capone any more.
in front of his father, his children, they don't call him 'dada al capone', they call him something else 'daddy', 'husband', or something. the roles we playwe have taken much too seriously and that's why we get into trouble. so this thing, to really grow in the way, it's not enough to just say sweet words about it. you have to willingly sometimes allow yourself to be challenged. somethings you may hear me say, something inside you may disagree and it may feel so deep and so profound
and to be able to open up to it and to say, 'ok. i'll let some space into this.' so gradually you conquer your bad behaviours. some people have to start at the behaviour level, others don't need that, they are already sufficiently flowing smoothly, then we can do the internal work more to get to that part. [questioner 5] guruji, i feel like if you can help me to descend a bit from this mind,to stay more in the heart. [m.] but you know very wellbecause it's not your first time here.
you know! you must be intelligent enough to know that you must discern the differencebetween your mind and your being, your heart. you must know this difference. they say when the disciple first comes, not called even 'disciple' yet. you don't call a sadhaka yet, you call mumukshu, meaning that you are just beginningto get the understanding and to see, 'ok. so this is my mind.i'm observing my mind and i'm not my mind.' that stage you call mumukshu.
by the time we get into the sadhaka's phaseit means you already know this and you're functioning from the state of presence, your relationship with all the beingsin the world is functioning from presence. unless you're functioning from presenceyou're in trouble! you cause a lot of trouble!you give more trouble than you give goodness. in the state of presencewisdom is already manifesting in you. mumukshu is different.it's like a parrot. he hears something and only can say what the parrot says. the parrot says, 'five plus five ten. five plus five ten'.
you say, 'eight plus two?' it doesn't know.'five plus five ten'. 'fifteen minus five is what?''five plus five ten.' [laughter] it's true but very limited. one with wisdom knows, 'ok. fine. there're many different ways in which we can arrive at ten. the parrot only knows only one.he doesn't really know, he just repeats. that's not even the mumukshu yet. that's stupidness. [laughter] but many people come to listen to a parrot.[laughter] sadhaka means, the one who is already... you can go
and people may not wantto keep your company much, but when trouble comes they want to come and see you. because people know;they just don't want to face that you have to correct them maybeso they keep away from you. they go to the people who tell you, 'you're doing so well. never mind. don't worry.' and kiss your hand. whereas a really good friend may tell you,'listen, you really screwed up. you should not have done that. and best thing to do is to go backand just make an apology,
then you're back to ground zero.' they say, 'i can't apologize. i can't listen to that.' so next time they don't come to you,but they know you're right. and these are the people who only in times of real trouble they will come to you, because the friend who just rubs your backis not going to help you, but the one who tells you, 'listen. ok. it's pretty bad. let's see what we can do and we'll find a way.' they will never tell you there's no way.
a wise person will never tell you, 'there's no way. you cannot be free, you're born to be bound.' they can. they can tell you that. it has been done.we cannot tell you. because sometimes the mindwants to take refuge in these type of things. i said one time we had one personin satsang in lucknow. this guy was always fooling around, always up to some kind of nonsense, wasting time, always with the girls. and then one time he came up in satsangand was talking, even when he was talking to papajihe was always looking around.
he was asking papaji about freedom and papaji says, 'i think you are wasting your time,' i think he said to him that, 'i'm sorry i didn't pay attention to you before, but you are wasting your timebecause freedom is not for this life for you. this life for you is not for freedom.maybe try next life.' it was so crushing!people in the group were, 'i'm not going up therebecause we don't know if papaji is in a bad mood.' 'no. this life is not for freedom, not for you. ok?
thank you very much. you go. next one.' so, this guy,it was completely devastating for him, but it killed the monkey! it killed the monkey! after that, you could be sitting next to anjelina jolie and see nothing! and 'oh! i'm finished. this life is finished.' and he changed. i saw this in the short time i was there. i saw him change. he became a very serious guy. and he needed to be serious to give focus. sometimes truth has to lie,
it has to tell a lie to get you back to truth. but generally they will always helpto encourage you unless encouragement doesn't work;you just become cocky! then they have to slap you in the face,or something like that. they always will say that one who is free always has your best interest at heart, they will not do something to trip you up, unless tripping you up is goingto help you to find the self. what are you laughing about?[q.1] i feel so happy.
[mooji] happy, too much happy. i want to read her letterbecause many of you were not here. she came just now, we were going out.we're late now. [q.] sorry. i'm not sorry actually. i'm just so happy. [m.] because we were going out and i saw her coming and she says, 'i got something for you'. so she gave me this letter, i started to read it and i said, i have to read it in front of everybody. this letter is for everybody.everybody should have a letter like this.
everybody should be able to write a letter like this.i wait and i read for everybody. then some come and i read a little bit,now the rest of you come. maybe there's some people doing something else. she writes. [friend] guruji, just a second. tina is leaving. [q.4] sorry, i have a train to catch now.to go back to london. [mooji] aahaa! look at that! oooh! ok. [q.4] thank you guruji for everything and i take sahaja in my heart. take it back to share.
[m.] very good. let me say something to all of you. if you're leaving, tell me one day before you go because i may have something for you. not a gift to give you like this. [laughter] so i may look and say, ok maybe we talk.it's always good. because sometimes people come and they leaving and they say, 'guruji, i'm leaving.'oh! when are you going? 'now.' but it's good. i'm very happy you came because i saw you, i see you.
[friend] guruji. we're leaving tomorrow. [laughter] you have time to listen to thisor you have to go now? [q.4] i heard it earlier. thank you.[m.] oh! you heard it. you can go. [f.] we need to run now. [mooji] ok. good. love you. love you. [sangha] love you. love you. love you. [mooji] love you. [laughter] [mooji] thank you. what happened is that on new year's eve i think,
we were leaving and at the end of the evening, now it was early new year's morning. as i was leaving to come up by the fire outside, somebody came and says, 'this is for you'. an envelope. i say, ok. thank you. i went up and sometimes i'm tired,i leave it until next day. but i felt to read thisand i'm looking at the letter and it says, 'oh, thank you so much and we're leaving tomorrow.
and guruji thank you for all your kindness.it's been very nice. i came here because i want to share with you that i've been seeing another teacherfor some time and i feel a lot of love for her and i think that somehow you may feel that it is in some way like keeping a duality. and it is, isn't it?' i say, what kind of letter is this? ok. tell her to see me tomorrow morning11 o'clock. i need to see her. and then she came in the morningand i pulled her out
i don't know if you remember, i gave her a couple of chops. [laughter] and i got a report that she left. they told me that night she could not sleep at all, but she was on fire that night!and now they wrote a letter, 'oh! she's so pleased. she's completely 'hooo!' i say, good. don't leave like that. don't come and pinch my bottom and run away.[laughter] because i'm going to catch you. who did that? you're hiding up a tree. i'm going to get you!
only the one who wants to escape, who don't really mean to ... then this one i say, ok.this one is going to do that. 'beloved master', she writes. 'i have no time'. this is first line, 'i have no time. i didn't do anything to have this privilege, it is a gift and i don't want to miss my chance. i must be that one! i don't want to, 'save all my lovingfor someone who is loving me'. i know it has done its work but nowit's not time any more.
from today, in fact, i don't have any future.' i don't see any tear marks on this. 'i am thankful this situation brought upthis strong attachment and identity for its last dance in that way. you often say, you cannot make itby mere determination. and it is burning inside my being. i don't want to fall asleep any more.i cannot forget you again. this laziness must disappear, this arrogance must be exposed. i love you endlessly. bindu' this is this one here.
what kind of letter is this one? this is a 'now' letter. this is a freedom letter.these are freedom words. sometimes people ask a questionor say something i said, it is not a freedom question. i'll answer this is a knowledge question.people ask a question. this is a knowledge questionand a knowledge answer will satisfy them. like, 'mooji, what happens after we die?' ok. depending upon the levelof your maturity now it will determine what you experience.that is a knowledge question.
someone saying, 'i can't breathe guruji!i can't breathe any more! the breath that belongs to the ego,i can't breathe it any more. please help me.'i say, move aside everybody. [laughter] i want this one. you have the attention. something brings you to that onebecause if it is genuine, i'm not talking about crocodile tears now. i want someone who is really on fire, someone who really wants to know. they don't want philosophy from me.they don't want my opinion. they just want spontaneous combustion basically.
they want to combust into awakening. and that's not to say awakening is like 'puff!' and you're suddenly vanished or 'here'. yes. there is an instant-ness about realizationof the self, suddenly a twist of attention and the realization becomesvery, very clear inside the heart. that is beginning and must continue to stabilize.stabilize! this is why i say, that sometimes there is a continuing sense of maturing,
but against a background of unchanging awareness. the awareness is not growing, but somehow the being is burning away like a meteorite falling from the heavenstowards the earth, but never hits the earth, it just exhausts itself before it crashes. in the same way something inside you, your being is combusting into pure awareness, it has to be like that. this is what i mean and i knowthese particular meteorites, they're not going to fall from the heavenwhile i'm sleeping in bed, i'm going to catch them 'aah!'
and yet i'm not sitting up waiting to seeshooting stars from here. we come together, we collide into space together because i have to be there somehow, i have to see you inside or outside.so, something is here. everybody is cookingand at a certain point you have to cook. i've not brought anybody hereto be disciple forever, there are no professional disciples here. you have to go beyond discipleship, you have to merge, so that when a clear cup of water is poured into a bucket of water
you cannot recover your original cup.it is merged like that. who's going to do it? your aspiration, your fire inside. grace sets alight, the grace inside youand something combusts. you don't know what did you do. you say in what you write, 'i didn't do anything to have this privilege, but it's a gift. i don't want to miss my chance.' you can't say, 'what happen when i did this
and that and then this is what happen.' it has come for you, it is your time. in this spiritual kitcheni don't keep a fridge here, i put no eggs in the fridge for later. everything must be cooked today!everything is cooked today. but you the vegetables are walking outon your own, [laughter] looking for earth, and i say, no, it's time to cook. the vegetables are climbing downlooking like this, 'tomorrow. can i be the meal tomorrow?'
and i say, no. no. i want you today.you're broccoli, no? this is laughing broccoli here. [q.1] potato.[mooji] potato. mashed potato. meaning you can eat it without teeth. you have to be so softened up, even granny can 'mmm'. [laughter] we don't need any teeth, you are softened up enough. you are rendered completely ready, your sadhana has made you into paste! baby food!
so we can eat you, baby and granny can eat you. [questioner 6.] this maturity is being harmonisedinside my own being. this is being done onlyand merely serving you at the same time. nothing more, just even one second. [m.] what happens is that as you begin to discover because at one time we think that it's almost like,'what can i give to god?' some people give the things they don't want, when they make a gift and even to me they bring their old giftsthat they don't want. here they come and they bring also a box of mangoes
with only three good ones on top, the rest is all ... just to make an impression. this is not a gift! people come and give you what they don't want. some give you what they do want, what they do like they give you, but who gives the giver? you go to the lion and you give him a tin of tuna fish. he doesn't want. he's in a cage looking at you and you're giving him tuna fish and bird seed.
he's saying inside his mind, 'now, why don't you stick your head through that, then i'd be very interested.' you go 'come on kitty cat, come on lion, roar. kitty cat smell tuna.' he say, 'no. you put your head inside and all of this will be nicely taken care of.' but you don't want to put, not even your fingers you want to risk. so, in the beginning like this, you feel you're giving something.
only when you begin to be touchedinside your heart are you giving your whole self. first you give things you don't want, then the things you value, then the things you do want, then you offer yourself, but only when you feel this magic inside, that taste that no flavour in the worldcan give you, incomparable! then you say, 'yes, yes. take all of me!' because then a miracle kind of mind comes. how are you going to say,
'i give you all of me.' when i've just enjoyed the best thing. you'd think, 'i want to keep myself to enjoy the best thing', but this makes you so mad! the divine love makes you a little bit mad, enough to say, 'listen. i've had such a best tastethat i want to give all of me.' if you give all of youwho is going to going to taste? [friend] you! [mooji] you which is the same as you. you give you up and you are left.
this is the great beauty. because we are always thinkwe are losing something, you're making a sacrifice,'why do i have to give all this stuff? why do i have to give my time?why do i have to give so much? why i, i, i?' this is the selfishness, the miserliness of the ego. 'what i have to give.'like anything really belong to you. when you came into this world as an infant form, you had nothing, you didn't even have teeth! you had nothing! you could not survive on your own,
you were connected to some umbilical cord. and now you're strutting about so proud like you came here as a master or something. [q.] your love is so much. i don't even want to say, it's too much.your love is ... i just ... your love is just ...you just keep ... you're too much! you're so much. you're so much! you're so much guruj! you're so much!
you're so, so much guruji! i just can't cope. [laughter] [m.] can't cope too much love.you collapse in that love and that love is going to make the best, produce the best. [laughter] [m.] this is the love that even frees upyour phlegm. [laughter] [m.] you said here, remember?it reminds me say something. you say, 'you often say,you cannot make it by determination'. sometimes i say, you cannot make it only by determination. because if you could, you may still hold onto your determined 'i', sometimes it's not determination.
the sage bankei went and sat on top of a rock, i don't know how long he spent sitting there. and all he had was a sore ass and he couldn't walk after that, for a long time. he said, 'it's not by putting myself through mere austerities, i cannot impress god like that.' because he retained his duality, but it was the understanding that came that showed you your true place.
presently we are still functioningvery much from the place of personhood and that is also phenomenal. it is like if you're in a placewhere everything is moving how can you judge what is vertical, everything is moving. so, like trying to judge from a place of movement,it's just like that. from the person, it's a bit like trying to evaluate where you are and where you want to be,while you're moving, you're swinging. which is the one? which is the vertical? which is perpendicular, we don't knowbecause you yourself are in movement.
but the trick is, wherever you as standing, always seems like still place. in the same way, on this planet, earth is always moving, but no body feels the movement. rather we see the sun moving, which relative to the earth, it's not moving. it is still. we are moving but we don't feel our movement. in the same way, something is always moving in the person but the person thinks that it can evaluate the totally motionless which is the supreme. it feels that it is the stillness, but it is restless by nature.
you have to go to another point, a deeper point. and while we have pride, you will not have the aspiration and also it is said that the supremewill not honour an arrogant mind. it cannot be tricked. the understanding comes, you sit, you listen, open and try to follow what master's words are pointing. in which direction is he pointing?is it up or is it down? is it left or right? is in inside or outside? you say, 'but it's none of these places!'
the end of the finger cannot touchany of these places. and yet, the finger in all of its movementis being watched. in what direction is that absolute-ness? and you cannot just know it in your mind, you have to know it intuitively. you have to un-become to know it,because it is the un-created one. so, anything created is not it. it is only an image in it. so, if you're waiting for the next thing i'm saying, you have missed your chance! if you're waiting for the next thing to say,'where is he going?'
you have already missedbecause i'm always speaking from here! the map is not the territory. the menu is not the meal. don't study menus, don't study maps. the scripture is not the living word. but you buy a book, called the bhagavad gitaor the bible and it's only a book, but when it touches your heartit becomes scripture. it becomes the living words of god. it has to connect with you. it has to come alive.
it cannot stay alive on a page, otherwise it's only a book, it has no value for you. but someone who reads it and feels it in their heart, it becomes life itself! it becomes a spirit. if you merely listen, but inside you're still holding onto something, then that something, just like i say, your finger nail can hide the sun, then whatever you're holding onto can maskthe intuitive realization of the self. not that the self is part of a trinity of seeing
because nothing can block the self. usually when you say, 'something is blocking the self...' if you have an eclipse, you have the sun there and the moon comes in front, then you can say, 'oh. the moon has blocked the sun,' but nothing can block the self like that. nothing can block the self, because the self is not an object that a second object can block. only an object can block an object
and the self not being an object cannot be blocked. all of that is just fantasy. even the feeling that something is obscuring the self, is watched from the self. nothing can obscure the self. in no language and not by any poet and not by any preacher, not by any awakened being has any words come to convey what the self is. therefore the greatest teacheris the embodiment of it.
just their presence alone conveys more than even the words can do. the teachers they talk about it,but the masters they embody it! we are talking about it only because we are so much venerating concepts and we are so much using the mind. so as much as mind can go, mind has to be combined with some intuition, some feeling sense, in order to come alive and they get a sense of what is being pointed. but sometimes the mere seeing of an awakened being
can trigger such a powerful urge to find the thing because you know that in a flash of a seed your whole mind can be re-orientated. so, if you hear that people have been searchingfor 30 years, 20 years, i find it difficult to accept. i say, enough now! you spent twenty years, thirty years just like if a room has been kept in darknessfor a hundred years, no light has come to this room. but someone just buys the house, goes inside, pulls the curtains.
how long will the light from outside take to come in? instantly it comes in. it won't take time.it won't say, 'look. wait a minute.because it's been dark for a hundred years give me at least five minutes to reach.' no, instantly the whole room is filled, flooded with light. in that way, as soon as the heart is opened, the whole being is filled with light. in the bible it said that, the light manifested and is in the earth, but the world has not understood it.
this is the light of consciousness.this is the 'i am' light. this is the christ consciousness, the shiva-being, the krishna consciousness, same thing. but the world has not understood it,not understood what it is. the greatest is here, but it has not been seen because we have not developed the eyes to see it. the eyes have not been made pure enough nor the mind pure enough to comprehendthe things of god. we see them in common sight,
but with our divine eyes, we are blind. satsang opens your eyes again, makes you alive again and especially a life that does not come to an end. we're not all experiencing lifein the majesty it is, but according to the limited capacity and our limited intelligence and maturity you see what you're able to see,not what there is, just what we are able to see to match the maturity in us. so, i'm calling you all the time,
put everything out, put everything in, put everything into this. you cannot cheat because if you save something you're saving something for an erroneous identity. if there's something good and you put it in,it will not be lost. if there's something good, you say,'something is really precious, something really important, really beautiful, really true.' you throw it in the fire, it will not be burnt. as i say, step into this fire of self discovery,
this fire will not burn you, it will burn only what you are not! so, if there's something true there, you put in the fire, it will not be burnt. only what is untrue will be burnt! you have no reason to save anythingand you don't even know what is good. [q.7] guruji, i put everything in the fire, everything from my pockets, everything which is hiddenwhich i don't know is hidden. everything which i know is hidden.my pockets, everything. i just put everything in the fire.
[m.] yes and put your 'i' in the fire too. [q.7] i put my 'i' in the fire.[m.] this is good. if the 'i' goes in first, the rest can come whenever. [laughter] because the rest only have their value for the 'i'. so, you put the 'i' in the fire and we see what happens, if you care for the rest. if you put your 'i' in the firethe rest belongs to god, don't worry. and you put your ownership, you put your projections, put your interpretations, put your tendencies,
all your projections in the fire, everything is fine, this is the 'i'. with this inspiration you must live because you will never be just bored. even if boredom comes, you will see it for what it is, it's just another shape, another cloud, that's all. why would you cry over another cloud? sometimes people may insult youand you'll see people crushed because a family member say somethingderogatory about them, you're crushed because someone
who's not even aware of who they are,of what this world is, curses you with the language of ignorance and you're crushed. how can you be crushed like that? suppose you are walking by and a dog says,'you're an idiot'? now that would really be something! [laughter] it's not a good example. i was going to say, you wouldn't pay it any attention. you'd probably pay it a lot of attention! [laughter] even if someone you don't respect say,'you're an idiot', you feel offended.
there is a saying that, 'it's not good to bite, but it's good to be bitten.' when you're bitten you feelall your stuff coming up and it gives you a chance to see what if you're too comfortable, too cozy you don't see. you don't see. when you're proud you think you're fullof such wonderful things, every part of you is good, but when you have got diarrhea, you look and say,
'i'm not full of so much wonderful things.' how can you be proud when you've got diarrhea, you don't feel proud. sometimes you have to get all yours, so people to see. you feel terrible, but at least you're healing, something is cleaning. my examples are not always elegant, but you get my point that somehow you get to see, 'well, wait a minute,' and your pride does not support you,it does not help you and never convinces anyone that you are just a legend in your own mind.
people don't see what you thinkwhat you're making them see. [laughter] [q.1] 'legend in the mind,' is so beautiful! [m.] who is going to survive these meetingsif you bring your heart to it? if you listen inside your heartwho's going to survive? [f.] guruji. i don't want to survive. [m.] you will not have any chance. you'll not have any choice! if you come and your heart is open, you don't even say, 'i don't want to survive'. even before you finish your sentence you're gone.'mooji arghhhhh!'
[q5.] i want a little bit of god, guruji. [m.] if somebody you like so much kisses you,you feel so much joy. but what happens if god kisses you? from inside your heart, your being? what's going to happen to you? and god is kissing you all the time, you don't know. that's why i say, we are stupid. you can only be mature enough to recognizewhat has always been here. we don't have to create anything new, anything fresh.
you only have to see what has always been here. if anybody tell you any different, say, 'no!' anything different is only another configuration of the five elements in their dance as manifestation. some people know that, even something new, 'yes, i've seen it before, actually.' it feels like this for me, every face i see. i could go to timbuktuor some place in the sahara or wherever it is, iceland or whatever, and everyone i meet, i know i know them.
i don't know the detail, how old you are, that's not you actually. but i know that light that shines in your eyes, i know where it comes from. to that one i'm speaking! the universal is what we are, but it's not necessarily what we discover. if you become proud and tight you'll only keep knowing your little fish pond. satsang opens all that up,
it crushes your boundariesand shows you they are imagined. [f.] guruji. i want to be crushed.[m.] you want to be crushed. [mooji] even now it is happening. [silence] the true being cannot be crushed, only the false can be crushed and crushed is only a metaphor, it doesn't have to be crushed, it only has to be seen. you cannot destroy what doesn't really exist. you can only expose it to the light of truth,
then it cannot perpetuate. while we're in the world, or in the worldly mind we are very gullible, very easily influenced, your mind can twistand become something very quickly. for some people, even somebody whisperssomething in their ears and their mind is changed and taken another form. but not so with one who has stabilized in the heart, their wisdom never leaves them. there's a saying, 'in which ever direction you move
the needle of the compass always points north.' whatever direction you go, your inner needle always points to the heart, it's always in the heart,so you will never go astray. you may be blindfoldedand taken to another planet, but your place knows, 'i'm always just here'. whatever is appearing in the front, the scenes may change, but the seer is constant and right there you find your orientation. but we try to find our orientationin things which are external
and which are themselves always moving. and we ourselves put ourself in the placewhere we ourselves are moving. you have to find the single unmoving thingin the universe. and why it is unmoving is because it is infinite, limitless. [q.8] can i share?[mooji] yes. [q.8] the movements in my being have been very strong. it's always shifting, everything i know is changing all the time. sometimes very sad statesand sometimes very light. and it's almost likethere's nothing to hold onto to,
i see those things trying to pick up some type of shape. it's becoming more clear, the seeing you're pointing to that almost the inquiry is not even necessary because there's not even any room for inquiry, there's just seeing. [m.] when you say, 'just seeing.'what is being seen, to call it seeing? [m.] you see? this is a powerful inquiry. inquiry will bring an answer to this very quickly. you say, 'if there is just seeing, there is no time even for inquiry, there's just seeing.'
what is being seen to call it seeing? [q.8] there's still some separation. [m.] yes. so, this is why the inquiry is potent because even you say, 'there's seeing'. seeing is a kind of functioning.there's just perceiving. when there's nothing to perceive is there seeing? 'yes', you may say. is seeing an activity, which itself is phenomenal and which itself is seen? if seeing is a functioning of perception
then it is merely a functionand that is also perceived. so, what is left here is just an openness. bear in mind no words are going to do it. the buddha himself expressed it in negative terms, 'it's not this. it's not that. it's emptiness.' cannot say what it is because if you say what it is, you create a shape. you say what it is not. and different beings they come to say,'it is emptiness', or something. but it is not quite just emptiness.
why not emptiness?because the mind has turned every word dirty! the mind can turn every word dirty. so, it itself is not a word, it has no word, it has no name, but it appears through a name because the conceptual mind needs a nameto reference. it cannot be compared, it is incomparable. but still the mind will try and find something that it's shape can be equatedwith what it feels is incomparable. all that we can say for now is thatthere is a kind of vacancy,
an expanse, but it is not active, it's not activated, it does not need to prepare for perception. perception happens, but it does not happen. but the awareness of perception takes place in it, but it does nothing at all! you can say like that. and somehow you must find a correspondencewith those words. yes, it is true that there's just a seeing.i say, but a seeing of what? a seeing of non-seeing? or a seeing of object seeing?
so, both are seeing, a positive and negative aspect of seeing. either the seeing of objects or of non-object, but that is still a functioningand that functioning is known. the functioning cannot be the essence, but the essence causes the functioning to functionand to be perceived. is there a perceiver and by askingif there's a perceiver it implies the 'er', the perceive-er implies that there is may be some entityat the end of perception, or at the beginning of perception, rather at the beginning of perception.
is the perceiving reporting to something? and if it is reporting to somethingthat something must be a something. so, both the perceiving and the object perceived and the one that perceives itare all phenomenal to the absolute. now, can you followwhat seems to be an abstract knowledge, but itself, the understanding itself is phenomenal. and what knows it? so, don't feel, 'uuuh!'we'll never get to the end of this.' well, there's no end to it,
but there's an end of the agitation, the doubt and the mischief and the duality. there's an end to it. where's the end to it? i am the end to it. you're the end to it, but you must know this enough to confirm it. there after you don't have to say anything more, but somehow it will be declared. 'i' the absolute am the end to all things. i am their beginnings and their endingsand the apparent durations.
i am that. time is simply my toy, you must know this and this without any arrogance, who is there? who's there to be arrogant about this. from here is generated the expression called love. love is my fragrance, you can say. and in that a great cessation has taken place. the great peace. it is always here, but undiscovered, unseen.
while there is still some fascination, some attraction for the identity of beingor the idea of being somebody that identity is accompanied by a certain agitation always on the verge of some crisis because this is the tumour of identity,to always create something, unfinished, some restlessness will be there. but that restlessness has to be there! it works also for the supremebecause without restlessness the aspiration to go beyond the restlesswill not arise
and if it does not arise then you will stagnate. you will stabilize in the wrong place; as if that is possible, it is not possible. you just move through new chapters of suffering which somehow, the being has deemed it enough for some, enough suffering. but there's a little bit of an etiquette, so that the way the being manifests as diversity and as person-hood, as diverse beings. it is like a play of co-operation.
it must infuse inside each expressionof consciousness a seeming will and a seeming choice, a play of choice. so, in the instrument there must be the play of choice to choose righteously between thatwhich is relative and that which is absolute. or that which is true and what is falseand by doing that it exercises and stimulates graceto come more fully in front. if it stays in the shape of a person of any individual autonomy,as an entity it will always anti-climax. it will not reach there.
so, these things it's the ability of consciousnessin form to analyse and to inquire and to come to a place to surpass even the realm of conceptual manifestation and concept generated manifestation and to come back to the birth place of them.what a capacity! we don't have to say, 'well, it's only exhibited within the spectrum of the human kingdom.'we don't know for sure. but it is in the human kingdom the capacityto analyse, to contemplate, to inquire!
and that central office has been sendingenough agents to help to engender within the beingsif they will respond, it doesn't do it for them. but it comes and it stimulates again to find that, as i said, that 'g-spot' inside every being. the god spot! whereby you are aroused again into some, 'aaah!' this is the divine romance, you can say. that something is so triggered, because you cannot just do with a flat boring ...
it will not be aroused, you're just in some tamasic negative state. but in the state of being aroused inside heart where you begin to feel the pulse of god, the vibration of a higher presencewhere true consciousness is raising the individual consciousnessinto a higher altitude so that the negative threadsof egoic thinking cannot ... otherwise we are like gullivers in lilliput brought down and held down by threads,
the threads of desire and attachments and fears and just little tiny things collectively in mind, but something that is able to raise upto such an altitude of consciousness that you're automatically raisedinto the level of pure presence. but what happens is that we are not ableto stay in presence. we, meaning that, depending upon the strength of our identity with person-hood, and the amount of things that we are attached to, dreams and objects and so on, which we can love,
but it seems we get confused with loveand attachment; with what is necessary and what is essential. what is important and what is essential, what is attractive and what is pure.it's all muddled. but just through grace all these things are clarified, pacified, healed, harmonized again. it is not through the individual, the individual person cannot do it! even if i tell you, you have to give up smoking before you can be free, people struggle, 'oh my god!'then they start to dream of cigarette
and how they're going to be without their cigarette. so, it's not just by personal effort, it's by this being opened to say,'yes, by myself i will fail. by myself i cannot do it. please, i need your grace.' and that attitude humbles the heart, makes it more pliable and open and receptiveto more subtle truths. [friend] guruji. we cannot do it without you. [m.] it's just the play. it has to happen this play. this is what all this is about, this play.
we can enjoy and all this, the five sensesand the mind can enjoy. five sense and my mind, without mind the senses can do nothing. they can enjoy all this. but to enjoy is not enough! you're free to enjoy, free to be free, free to be bound. but as soon as that seed of desirefor truth and freedom, that love sprouts in your heart.the true love that moves beyond this localized version of nuclear love which is only for your family and friends, it starts to expand, that's the magic begins to happen in your heart.
then your being can comprehend,it can waltz with god. otherwise you cannot do it, it's just too selfish. and so it expands and contracts, expand-contract, and keep expand and contract, expand-contract, expand-contract, expand-contract. can't contract! cannot contract! fly you have to! [laughter] i have to go now. we have to go and do something. [sangha] thank you guruji. [m.] universe, god, this gracearranges these meetings.
who else? none of us had the intention, 'oh! this morning i must ...'no. by itself. we meet. we don't know where it'll lead. who sets this timing that i will bump into bindu? 'i've got something for you',and look what it leads to, many beings come. and through many beings, maybe they writeand say something, 'i was touched by this thing.' it goes 'boom' on facebook. [laughter] from one seed. it's true! isn't this how things spread sometimes?
somebody say, 'i was so touched by this thing', and somebody say, 'wow! this is so beautiful.' the other day i said something, that if you allow the words, my words, if you hear and accept them in your heart they will destroy the words in your mind. somebody's heard that already. they say, 'yes. i've been waiting to hear that!' simple. one sentence!
it gives a life sentence to this. so easy. no one can plan a life more auspicious than the life that is unfolding by the cosmic will. if you accept that you'll find your life otherwise we are searching through our ego. you try many, many things. you're going to kiss many frogsbefore you find your prince. we are trying many, many things, but you wasted efforts
because it is not what is truly compatiblewith this body. something in this body is made for some expressions, but you may try out somethings. isn't it? we love this freedom. maybe you have a relationship with someone, the really highest thing was to be good friends, but then you became lovers, spoil everything. did i use a good example?[friends] yes. [m.] i don't mean that specifically, i mean lots of things that we do
that you could have looked at it in a different way, 'oh! wait a minute,' and go and it would go furtherand bear great fruit. but with two: the greedy mind and the wrong interpretation, and you still get a life from that. we think, 'but this is my life.' but you must know thatyou have such great choice because we are divine beings! we're just on this planet to pay rentand to worry about what handbag you're going to buyfrom the market today. it's immense! life is a magnificent existence,
but only magnificent, not just because of what is out there, that's magnificent also, but it's the capacity inside to contemplate our source being today! and get results today!not just tomorrow. but today and results that will last for all tomorrows even. this is our wealth, unclaimed! this is our wealth, unclaimed. it's like somebody won the lottery ticket, but never claimed it. winners from the beginning, but maybe losers in life in our way that we live the life
and how it is played through our mindnot knowing that this is only a movie. and god's movie you can keeps changing take different colours, different shape all the time. ok. thank you. [friends] thank you. [mooji] i remember sometimes when i was so moved by the presence of the holy spirit; i can use this word, or other words we can use. i just wanted to jump out of myselfwith so much joy,
i'm the luckiest being in the whole world! what have i done for this? i go climb a tree. back-flip out of it! [laughter] i felt so full! sometimes so full of joy, sometimes i couldn't walk, i'd be leaning up against a tree. my legs would just not be able to move. so much joy is inside! so much peace. it's like your whole body is filled with mercury.
it couldn't move, but what mercury, my god! so much joy. so much peace! it's manifesting in so many different forms of sweetnesses. [f.] i keep falling into the ditches herebut i never hurt myself. [m.] see, this is another beautiful thing? [laugher] listen. as i said before, very few professionals have come, many people have come to monte sahaja, they can hardly use a nail clip and they have gone to work in construction
and really there should be by now an average of maybe nine or ten dead peoplein monte sahaja from amputations of machinery. we've had nothing major, people have fallen off roofs, they've had trucks full of stonesrun over their foot, people have been crushed by cars right here, run over by a car, all kind of things, they are still alive. [laughter] laughing and having jokes at the same time. i feel that we are really here by grace.
that's not to say become complacent, but it's in the kitchens, lots of ninjas in there chopping, sometimes little cuts just to say,'guys, take it easy.' ok. [m.] i must show you a practical example. she said, 'i don't know how to surrender.' so i said, i am going to show you practically. now i have to think of something. copyright â© 2016 mooji media ltd.all rights reserved.
