today, we have a delicious cake for you that you can even nibble on before you slice it. the recipe and ingredient list can be found in the info box or on http://amerikanisch-kochen.de first, you have to prepare the dough. like usual, we mix butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until foamy. in the next step we add the eggs, which are well stirred with the mix. the same is done with the sour cream. the flour is mixed with salt and baking powder. a bit of this flour mix is added to the chocolate drops, which are later added to the dough. with this, we prevent the chocolate from sinking to the bottom while baking.
next, we add the flour bit by bit to our butter-egg-mixture. and finally, we add the chocolate drops. the cake is now baked at 180â°c (with circulating heat), for 35-40 minutes in a springform pan. we make a ganache of dark chocolate so the candy remains stuck to the cake later. for this, cream is boiled, poured over the chopped dark chocolate and stirred for 3 to 4 minutes until smooth. the ganache has to cool down and harden a bit in the refrigerator before we can spread it over the cake. after the cake has cooled down and the ganache is spreadable, you can start decorating the cake.
to keep the plate clean, we simply put 4 strips of baking paper under the cake. now we spread the ganache and smooth it out. this doesn’t have to be perfect since it won’t be visible later. we now place chocolate bars around the candy with the smooth side facing inwards. you can choose whatever chocolate bar you like. we have decided to use the cheap variant of mini kitkats here. we recommend to loop some ribbon tie around the cake so everything stays in place. it looks cute and the chocolate bars are kept against the ganache while it cools down and hardens. as secondary decoration, we have used a couple of m&ms,
but you can use smarties, gummi bears or whatever sweets you like. remove the ribbon tie before slicing. the chocolate bars should remain in place once the ganache has hardened. we hope you enjoyed the video and wish you a great time trying out this recipe.
